I dont think I would get to the stage of paying for spec. What are the better clans to look for?

easiest thing for you to do(cause theres loads of high skilled clans at cs) is look on say clanbase at the leagues and the top teams.then find theyre servers.theres are also a few who come on here and hopefully they ll post there ip but thing is, reason every joe public dont find em is cause they re mainly for the pros and playing seriously .

Go on Spectate and watch SourceTV of clan matches. Plenty to learn from watching their tactics etc. Or go on clan sites and download sourcetv demos of their matches :)

HLTV.org

This has videos of a lot of major matchs.

Also league sites - thesgl.com GBGL.com enemydown.com also have source tvs during matches that you can watch.

Hi bloodline,

After playing CS 1.6 for many many years (and source now) in a lot of lan tournaments, the best piece of advise I can give you is to practise practise practise.

I don't just mean play the game, but study the ins and outs of maps, such as positions, how to bounce grenades to perfection, how to hide your shoulder when going round corners, enemy movement, wall spams (not as much in source though), and sound. Sound is so important, never use speakers :p

I suggest if you want to improve then get into a routine.

Warm up on a deathmatch server for 5-10 minutes+.
Play an aim map for 20 minutes+
Play on a normal public server, but play properly like you would in a match 20 mins+
Watch as many demos of top teams as you can
Play in as many mixes or clan matches as you can.

HLTV is good to watch people playing, but the demos are always available so just download these http://www.gotfrag.com/css http://www.hltv.org/ few other sites but not at home so I can't remember.

http://www.uk-ct.net/ & http://www.thesgl.com/ will keep you informed when big top teams/tournaments are taking place.

or drop me a email with your steam addy and I'm sure I can show you a few tricks :)
