Hi there everyone, basically im a beginner gamer and to be honest im in no way hot at games but i do enjoy them. what im looking for is tips and hints for css to help me on my way, no im not looking for cheats as i dont want to lose 16 games on my steam account :)

Aim for the neck, the recoil will make sure you get a headshot. The more people on the server, the harder it is. Practice your aim on aim_ maps, dont spray, crouch when you fire, and never fire when running. Walk so you can hear them and they cant hear you.

No matter how many people tell you f10 is not the answer :p

Be adaptive in your game play, camp, rush, walk etc. The more you play the better you will be, might be best to start out on servers of less skilled players so you don't die every 10 seconds and get frustrated. Listen to footsteps and use your radar if your on a friendly fire on server.

Play on servers with under 16 people, this make sures it not too hectic and gives you chance to practice aiming and get into the game better, perhaps follow some of the higher scoring players on the server and watch their movements see what you can pick up.

my top tip..play 1.6 instead ;)

Best tip.

In all seriousness, make sure as you come round every single corner you have your crosshair at head/neck height as this will ensure a quick headshot. There are so many people who run about with their guns pointing at the ground and they get far worse scores because of it.

Also learn the weapons. Don't buy anything apart from an AK or Colt (Or mp5 on occasions with less money) and get used to them. Fire burst of 2/3 with both, getting used to sidestepping and stopping just long enough to let the crosshair go down to get an accurate shot.

I find being as sneaky as you can and getting 'em from behind seems to work well. It helps to know the maps for this tactic. :)

If you like rushing, get used to the p90.

If you are on the losing team, get used to the deagle.

If you camp, blend in as best you can.

Always try and vary what you do, as you are easy to kill when you do the same thing every round. :)

dont play public, just join a clan from day one, or at least learn the maps on public then play in loads of mixes #mixing.css on irc will help..

Play on deathmatch servers to get your aim decent and keep playing on them to hone it.
bn
Lower your sensitivity (provided windows is set at default 3) to about 1.2-1.9 in the options menu. Get your self a decent config such as Casey's config and tweak it to your computers power.

Invest in a decent mouse, mousepad and headset such as Logitech MX510 or Icemat Siberia headphones.

there are a lot of hackers and general prats on mixes though.

I play as mush as possible maybe 2 hours most nights, As for 1.6 i also play it but i get absolutly slaughtered in it so i choose the easier option, lol.

Joining a clan may be good, anyone recommend any?

I know most of the maps fairly well, only thing with camping you get rediculed for it even if its only like 10 seconds on some servers.

As for hackers I see that, there was like this guy who was owning everyone one time and he was like doing 100mph spinning, couldnt even make out his model he was going that fast and then he took off over the map, thought something was up there now, also seen a few prats using wall hacks too.

Speedhackers are GREAT fun to play with.

Such suspense hiding in a corner waiting for him to pop out and knife you :D Standing on boxes sometimes gets them stuck, allowing you to place a few bullets in their heads :p

Practice!

Thats all you need to know. Treat the game like you would if there really were Terrorists running around wanting to shoot you.

Take your time, dont run around corners blindly, be quiet as possible. And dont panic in a fire fight. Use all your toys too, nades, flashes (not when your team are infront tho).

Check out 87.117.196.174:27015 its the MKDM clan public server and it has a mixture of really good and average players. All the MKDM players are a friendly bunch and will help you out as best they can. Post on their forum at www.mkdm.co.uk to say who you are and am sure someone will keep an eye out for you m8. :)
