I applied for post which requires CTC and SC clearance in civil service.

I have looked through information online which states they check spent and unspent convictions. 24 years ago I was arrested but not charged. The arrest may still show on police records but I was not convicted.

Does this likely to show up when they do there checks?

I have looked at the security clearance application form. In the criminal check section there is a tick box for spent/unspent conviction details but they have not asked for arrest details.

Thanks

Yes it will show up, you should declare everything regardless of how long ago it was - better to be honest and upfront instead of missing anything out.

Even if it shows up it depends what it's for.

I worked in a SC cleared role and plenty of my colleagues who had convictions still got in (for stuff like assault).

Anything fraud related was an instant blocker.

Declare it in the 'any other info box' if available. If you don't, they may ask you about it or deem you to be hiding it.

They mostly care about leverage (in terms of you wanting to hide things and bad actors able to make attempts to blackmail you as a result) and deception as those things are a bad mix around the information you potentially could have access to.
