Oh noes, a whole .1 to .4 of a second slower to 60. Quicker to 100 and higher top end. Greater in-gear acceleration, and more scope for more power easily (remap).

pmsl @ quoting 0-60 time. I am definitely on the wrong forum :D

Round a track CTR wins every time. Lighter weight = better power to weight ratio and better handling. Very simple.

Why do you think they make WRC cars as light as possible? ;)

Er, LCR 222BHP / 1.32 tonnes = 168BHP/Tonne

CTR 197BHP / 1.204 tonnes = 163BHP/Tonne

Do the maths.

EDIT: Mine = 265BHP / 1.32 Tonnes = 200BHP/Tonne

But if you've got upto the corner quicker, slowed down later and can pull out of the corner harder then even if the CTR is quicker round a corner it still doesn't matter!

Yea, the cornering speed outweighing power is only really applicable to the teg as the civic really doesnt cut it against more powerful hatches like the teg does.

The above point is irrelevant without gearing information in terms of working out speeds...

For every mine is faster than yours, theres another one the opposite on another website.

Countless times ive seen the Civic Type-R topgear/5th gear laptime flashed in the face of leon/clio/golf/focus owners...its all tit for tat I guess :)

Countless times ive heard the Ep3 is marginally faster round "a" track than a Dc2 too. I owned a Ep3 for a good 2 years, tracked the fek out of it and can't see how a Leon Cupra-R would be as controllable/precise driving 10/10ths on a track. (disclaimer - Ive had regular use of a LCR for the past 3 years and still do - the old man drives one)

Having said that, on a b-road with anything less than a spanking new layer of tarmac on it, I reckon I would have **** it in the CTR if i'd confronted a commited Cupra-R driver "up for some". CTR is much more skittish, more prone to lift-off oversteer and its rear suspension travel aint exactly generous over crests and dips.

A Dc2 is more fun than either of them though :P .

I'll go with that, certainly more fun on a track, and on a B road too so long as the surface isn't too crud.

I couldn't have lived with one day to day though, which is why I ended up with the LCR.

and that's why I bought a DC2

210bhp, regarded as the best handling FWD car and only 1060kg

I was under the impression that the EP3 was not far behind the DC2 but of course that was the real EP3 (the JDM one with 220bhp and LSD :)) not the watered down UK one.
