Can a mod please rename this thread to 'Lets all slate the CTR'

Ah well I love my CTR, and guess what, I'm not a chav!!

Its a good car :) Its only when people start saying how much better it is than X that people start slating it.

Bingo. In its own right, there is little wrong with it (bar the interior build quality, which is also backed up by numerous owners opinions).

Its ok, I could have you on the Autobahn ;)

Damn you and that extra 5mph :(

Aye again but I quantify (im in a pedantic mood today)

CTR interior in a nutshell

Real build quality - Good / Typical honda (albeit Honda UK)

Percieved build quality - Average/good (its not the kinda soft-touch-hand-sinks-into-dashboard plastic, nor is it elephant scrotum Peugeot 206 dash plastics either)

Main problem with interior
1 - The FSJHKING seat memory is terrible. Spend 5 mins adjusting it back to where you set it if someone else changes it.
2 - The dashboard plastic is immensely scratchable :|

Oh dear lol. Didnt read much of that happening in 2-3 years of CTR forums...but then again the cars are older now.

Superglue to the rescue.

lol 19 bhp increasing top speed with the same gearing? This is too much :D

Er, assuming you're car hits its limit because of aerodynamic drag, then it is 100% safe to say that an increase in BHP and torque will increase top end.

If you are hitting the rev limiter in top gear, then of course you won't get any increase.

However you really are not coming across as the brightest bulb in the cluster in this thread.

yeah sure, according to you and one other bloke. Just keep quoting your 0-60 times and Fox can continue to base his opinions on reviews that others have made :D

You quote power and torque figures, like your 265bhp or whatever but I bet you'll still get beaten round a track because the car can't put that power to the ground.

How many engines have you rebuilt by the way?

Of course it can, except in the wettest of wet conditions (and snow/ice). The days of 250BHP "maximum" out of an FWD car are gone. I'll admit that its not the best way to lay down 250+ BHP, but its certainly do-able.

Again, you are coming across as a tool.

Rebuilt from a bare block? If so, none.

Taken numerous top ends apart, including a 1.8T. Not that this is relevant AT ALL.

He actually isn't - infact 0-60 is the one time which shows the CTR as being better.

I've driven both the current and previous variant Civic Type R.

It's funny watching you defend your Honda like a fanboy. It's not a bad hot hatch, it's just no Cupra R.
