Has anyone been to Cuba in July? The reason I ask is that the missus and I have found a great holiday deal there but are concerned about the weather forecasts- it's supposedly the start of hurricane season!

I wouldn't want to pay for two weeks and then it just be overcast, humid and rainy the whole time. Our alternative is Egypt which would be guaranteed dry hot heat.

Thanks for any advice.

I went to Cuba last year, we went out at the beginning of May for 2 weeks. First week the weather was really good, but the 2nd week we had rain pretty much everyday. The flight home wasn't much fun either, we spent the first 5 hours bouncing over the Atlantic. I don't like turbulence!

I'd say stick to Egypt if you can, the time you're looking at going to Cuba is out of peak season and the last thing you want is 2 weeks of bad weather. You can get that in the UK.

I have been to Cuba twice (Cayo Coco)
Once was at the start of September and this year at the end of January.
September was really hot, few showers in the evening.
January was nice and warm, but got quite windy on the beach areas.
I thought that hurricane season was really from Sept onwards until Nov.
