Current build advice

Stulid listed the reason above really. Personally, I like my cards running at the same bandwidth. Another is the utilities on the board itself, along with its aesthetics, black finish, along with a black back plate fits the case.

If you are a student you can get Win 7 fairly cheap. If not, that will push your budget up a little.

sw1ft, what would be you build list for £700? I would be really interested to see it, thanks.

Syncez, thanks for your awesome build list, which PSU would you recommend?

Thanks again.

For reference mate, stulid posted almost the identical spec I would have, so you're onto a winner with that, a decent i7 3770k build for sub £700, can't say fairer!

Which was also the second build I posted :). (almost) but nice. Yeah it's a pretty decent build mate. Though an OS is required here so this might need adjusting

Just use windows 8 preview to buy yourself some time, compromising a spec that tightly budgeted would mean a lot of tweaking and messing about

That comment concerns me a little! Could you expand on this? Thanks.

I think he means that the components that has been chosen so far will work at best for a budgeted high end PC. Changing the components now will probably cost you either more or less.

You mean the components that has been suggested by everyone I'll not work well together? Which components will need to be changed to solve this problem? Sorry I am new to all this and it is my first build. Thanks.

No, thats not it. You have a budget on your build. What we have all suggested so far fulfills your budget (i suppose). But we haven't added in an Operating System. To avoid spending more money, you may aswell use the Windows 8 preview until you can afford to buy Windows 7 or so. What sw1ft meant was that, there is no point getting cheaper components so you could buy windows 7 on top of what he suggested :). Is this clear?

Makes complete sense, thank you. Sorry about the confusion my end. I might even start off with Ubuntu as my operating system. But I sure this might open up a whole other discussion :)

Sorry mate, yeah as mentioned I mean the components in the spec are pretty tight to your budget and so having to add in an operating system would make a lot of work because there isn't much room for maneuvering. It's not as simple as some specs where you can change from a £150 case to a £60 case to make up some cash.
