I recently bought a Sony 32" Bravia and I want to get a Blu-Ray player to go with it!..

I've pretty much settled on the Sony BDP-S480, which has been nicely converted to Multi-Region DVD playback by Multiregionmagic in Peterborough all for the princely sum of £149...

It does just about everything I want, plus it'll play my Region 1 and 3 DVD's (which make up about half of my collection) nicely!!

Thing is.. Someone on here said its nearing the end of its life and all the current players are the 'out-going' models to be replaced soooooon!!

D'ya think I should wait till the new model comes out (and hope these people in Peterborough can MOD it no problems) or should I just bite the bullet and buy it!?!?!...

Seems rather expensive. I think I paid about 120 for it 9 months ago.

In fact it's that price (MR) at that place that sounds like it's not poor.
 
Didn't think it was a 'Code' I thought it was a 'hardware hack' like the old days of Techtronics (still got my Panny RV60 DVD player!!)... Hmmmm

I'll have a lookie around! :)

But is there a 'New' model soon to be released?, or is that like April tome next year!?!..

There are always new models coming out, but realistically... what else do you want it to do other than play BD and DVDs? IT has 3D... It doesn't have wifi, but does have a network port on it.

I'm not even sure what's coming out in the next 6 months... it's served me quite well, anyway. Not that I've ever tried 3d on it.

I can't find a region free hack for it that doesn't requier a one4all remote... boo.
