Current spec check/future

Hi guys, seem to be posting a lot here at the moment... a lot of options i need to work out

My current pc has the following specs

AMD X2 3800 CPU (939)
DFI nForce mobo w/ 2GB DDR RAM
X1900XT 512MB RAM
500W Jeantech PSU
19" TFT
160GB + 80 GB HDD

Right now im considering an upgrade for crysis and more importantly UT3 and my bro has expressed an interest in buying the above. Only problem i have with that is will the above run any of the latest games (i appreciate crysis on high would be a bit on the tough side) and considering the socket of the cpu/mobo as i understand it there isnt a lot of upgrading that can be done to it in future. I know hes an UT fan and as much as id need the money for my own upgrade i couldnt fleece him something obsolete considering the prices of 775 socket stuff today (he isnt made of money atm anyway).

Any pearls of wisdom? I was thinking of flogging it all for 400-450, is that too much or too little? And would it be the best option for my brother?

Odd thread i admit but any help would be hugely appreciated!

My budget is going to be a bit silly at around £1500, my brothers would be £500 at an absolute maximum, 450 would be better.

This is a good sysytem.. However I forgot the PSU.. The Corsair 620W would be a good choice.. then you have the OS to think about.. You can save £100 or so by opting for the Samsung 24" instead of the Dell.

Thanks for that huddy, near enough bang on the money.. might switch to the sammy though cus i fancy getting vista+psu. Is there a significant difference between the two brands?

What about my current PC? Im not asking for a price check a simple higher or lower will do

My bro is coming from a 9800 pro single core cpu so anything would be an upgrade for him at the end of the day.

At the end of the day, it how much people are prepared to pay.

Brands of what? TFT? Both the Dell and th Samsung are good choices. I believe they have different film technolgy. The samsung is TN and the Dell is S-PVA I believe.
