OK well my PC is telling me it's time to do something. How can I tell? Well the RAM is faulty and likes to reboot. The gfx card is not DX10
, I have run out of hdd space, I have no means of backing up my data, it's never been the coolest of rigs and my monitor is to good for my gfx card. lol
So this is my current spec:
AMD 3500+
MSI K8 Neo2 Plat
2 x 512mb Crucial Ballastix PC4000 (faulty)
Connect 3D X800 XT PE
74gb Raptor (too noisy)
250gb WD
Tagan 480
Dell 2007WFP
Then the small stuff
Wavemaster case with side panel
masssive Thermalright heatsink... you know... the really big one...
120mm Fan
Sony DVD rom drive
NEC 3500 DVD RW
Some Aerocool Fan controller
Think that's about it. Anyway, this is what I am looking for:
AMD <---Don't Even Think of saying Intel/Nvidea
ATI card <---
2Gb Ram
A black... apple like keyboard (or do they do black apple keyboards?)
Black aluminium case
PSU
Dead certain on:
Vista Ultimate 64-Bit Edition
Western Digital MyBook Premium 320GB
Western Digital 500GB x 2
Logitech MX Revolution Advanced Cordless Mouse
So basically what do you think I should keep and what do you think I should sell. My whole rig cost something like £1400 when I built it. Or would it be wise to make some sort of media center?
Also does anyone want to help me spec a system. It's going to be a while before I have any cash but I know your advice will help me get up to date with things. There isn't a budget as such... but common sense is good. I learnt the hard way by paying £350 for my gfx card.
