current trends for SSDs

Hey there,

I have a couple of questions and would greatly appreciate some help with them, recently ordered a pulse 8700i from here and i was looking at storage options, unfortunately at the moment i couldnt afford to stretch to a 200gb+ SSD so had to settle for a 1tb seagate barracuda but i am looking at hopefully doing so in a month or so.

So my questions, what are the prices like for them at the moment? are they currently climbing or dropping? i noticed that prices for HDs seem to have creeped up since last i looked.

And are there any new developments people are expecting? sudden price increases/decreases, dramatic changes in capacity, new releases and the like, etc etc

obviously not counting the unexplainable, floods, earthquakes and the like which we cant predict.

Havent really looked at pricing at all the last 6 months as it wasnt likely i would be getting a new system so please forgive me if i sound lazy, i just want to get looking now for when i do have the cash and i get to see what all the fuss is about after being stuck with a 5400rpm laptop HD for the last 4 years or so.

Also on a sidenote, in terms of reliability and price which brands would you recommend?

I think ssd`s are generally on the rise like ram prices are.

I think SSD prices are rising slightly, but not because they are actually rising, but that the £ is falling, and all this stuff is imported.
