Howdy,

So I had a curry the other day and my friend reccomended a NAGA curry so I ordered it, when it arrived it must have been made by the devil himself as it was quite hot.. I am not a whimp when it comes to hot food and I enjoy eating chillis. After finishing the curry like a boss my lips were numb and now they are chaped and flaky.. is it possible to get chilli burns?

Dude

Oh no, I do like hot food. I had just never lost the feeling in my lips before or have them phyisically burned. Was wondering if it was normal.

Your lips will heal but I'd start worrying about your teeth dropping out. Some curries should carry a health warning. :p:D

I can't see how you would actually taste anything with a curry that hot. Seems pointless to me. I like medium to hot curries, but I like to taste all the flavours.

I have curry burns on my chest, it has scarred me, I was making piping hot curry in the kitchen, I had my top off, next minute I took it off the hob, slipped and tipped hot curry over my bare chest.

Hurt so bad :(

Hot curries are awesome, man up. :p

But seriously, you won't do any damage. The chilli in the curry sets off the same pain receptors as with 'real' heat, so that's what you're feeling. :p
