I wouldn't hold my breath (this is also good general advice - don't hold your breath).

I'd say that is highly dependent on circumstances. Holding your breath while underwater for example, is pretty good advice.

Comes just as a) I've spent more money than I meant to this month, and b) am in need of a new television..

Same - our fridge packed in at the beginning of last week so we went to our nearest Curry's thinking we would get a bargain....we didn't...but we still need a new TV and/or a new Freezer...wonder if the OH will get his Credit Card out for a new telly...

I don't have any hope of anything decent but...I'm hoping my negative hope doesn't hold true either :p

Are they secretly in administration too?

No, reckon they are just jumping on the back of the US Black Friday thing. Its obviously working well for Amazon in the UK and by having a sale before Xmas, it gets people interested as they are obviously looking for Xmas presents.

Do people even bother with January sales anymore? Even in the clearance xbox games at currys Fifa12 for £25 behave

Just picked up keys to my new house today, so am needing a fridge and freezer again. Hopefully they have something decent, and for good monies! Thanks for the heads up.
