Anyone had any experience with curry's warrenty on tvs
55" Oled tv is 18 months old and has developed a fault with the screen

They are collecting it tommorrow hopefully to repair it but they did mention they will give a credit if they cannot repair it

TV was £800 and they no longer sell Philips ambilight oled. If they offer a credit I cannot use it as they have nothing suitable and there's nothing close to £800 anyway

i dont want to be in a suituation where i have store credit and it just sits there as they have nothing suitable and also think they might only offer a portion of the oriiginal payment

Anyone had this and what should I expect?

Don't know about Curry's, but I had just as much trouble with a warranty claim from Richer Sounds. Ended up costing me £400 to get a new replacement as LG wouldn't repair my old one.

So that was basically a £400 discount on an £800 TV from a original TV that cost £1300 and had a panel that was less than four years old.

I thought richer sounds were known for their solid warranty? That's terrible.

I would have fought for £600/700 on that one, depending how close to 3yrs it was. Seems a little on the low side given inflation added at least 10% on TVs during the time you purchased it.

The TV was around four years old, but the original panel was replaced after about ten months. Again Richer Sounds just pass you on to the manufacturer and you have to deal with it yourself. To be honest the five year warranty they offer isn't worth jack. If it's over 12 months old they send you back to the manufacturer. Then if they'll repair it then you pay for it, then Richer Sounds reimburse you afterwards. In my case, LG weren't even doing repairs on my TV despite chasing them for three months.

For clarity.

Richer Sounds didn't except my panel issues as burn in, image retention or any other defect. They said it was pixel wear and anything they offered warrant wise or discount wise was a good will gesture. Basically the yellow pixels in the middle of the panel were now green

I had no problems getting them to fix dead pixels that appeared on my CX OLED recently about 3 and a half years in. It was a straightforward collection then delivery the following week.
