has anyone heard of the curve card?

seems to be a master card that you link all your credit cards to and can then just carry the one card and chose which account the money comes from?

my friend just got one but I haven't really heard or had a chance to read into it.

hoping s few people on here might have tried it and know if its practicle.

@Glaucus I know you're into your minimalist wallet stuff so might be something for you

It doesn't offer the same purchase protection as a credit card. I looked at it around a year ago I think, but rejected it on that basis.

And apparently a smartphone.

yeah but who doesn't have thier phone?

now it seems you have 2 weeks you change how you paid too.

so if you forgot your phone you pay with the card and then within 2 weeks you can change which card it used whocj is handy.

I suppose the protection thing could be an issue but that's only if you're spending 100+.

but if its linked to a credit cars do you not get the credit cards protection? or do they see it as a transfer rathet than payment

oh woe checking the protection thing I just learned something I never knew

In the same way as PayPal or Amazon 3rd party purchases, using Curve is not a direct purchase from the user’s original card, so the purchases are not covered by Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.

buying from sellers on Amazon that aren't Amazon with a credit card isnt covered by section 75 either

Curve card? No.

Fuze Card? Yes.

I haven't used it, quite happy with just my monzo card for monthly spending and bank account for direct debit.
Although when I find a place to buy I shall look into minimizing again and getting rid of house keys. Also want to get android pay up and running. Just a shame will still have to have a car key.

it still has chargeback protection like every single mastercard and visa card. Do you never ever use your debit card due to not having section 75?
section 75 also does not apply to purchases under £100. I don't get the fascination with the must use credit card for protection.

Yes, I specifically use my credit card for large purchases, as the protection offered is valuable and easily accessible.

I have a black curve card but only use it in places that offer rewards as well as to withdraw cash from my credit card without penalties.
Current merchants at 3% (1.5% for the blue card) cashback are:

Argos, Arcadia Group (Topshop et al), Ask Italian, B&Q, Babies R Us/Toys R Us, Belgo, Bella Italia, Boots, Cafe Rouge, Caffe Nero, Carpet Right, Debenhams, Ernest Jones, Evans Cycles, Feel Unique, Gap, Goldsmiths, Halfords, House of Fraser, Leslie Davis, M&S, Marriott, Miss Selfridge, Moss Bros, Mothercare, New Look, Papa Johns, Pizza Express, River Island, Spa Finder, TGI Fridays, The White Company, The Works, Thorntons, TuneTribe, Virgin Experience Days, Waterstones, Wilkinsons, Wyevale, Yo Sushi and Zizzi

I have a Natwest Rewards card so I still carry that and use it as my default except in the places above.

Yeah I use Curve and have done for over a year. Just saves me carrying various business and non-Amex cards around in my wallet. Not that fussed about purchase protection as I only use it for anywhere that doesn't take Amex which are normally smaller purchases; food, drink, parking etc.

Otherwise it's great and the Go Back in Time feature is particularly useful as it means you don't need to use your phone at all.

For smaller payments I find Android Pay fantastic. If I'm out cycling or walking I don't bother taking any money now. My phone can pay for things. I'm not sure how it copes with multiple cards though. I assume there is a way to switch between them.
