Custom Build - Current/upcoming games, some 3D

Hey guys,

I'm putting together a new build to go into my micro-atx case. I'm really just after your thoughts/comments on whether it will be compatible with itself, and future games & technology.

Primarily will be used for gaming, dabbling in 3D modelling/rendering/Photoshop.

I've attached a screenshot with what I have and what I intend to get, keep in mind that I'll probably be aiming to get this early-mid January so things might change (sales :)).

Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated, even if it's way off!

edit: the quantity is 2 on the ram - so it's 16gb
edit2: seemingly has room for my sound card, graphics card + option for crossfire if I wanted to upgrade later on?)

16gb of RAM will be good for CAD/video edting.

Unless you're REALLY into music and sound, a sound card is a bit of a waste as onboard sound is very good now. So i dropped the sound card all together and through in a GTX 770. :) You could go for a 280X but i think the 770's are better value.

I really wouldn't suggest going SLI in a mATX case. I have one myself (TJ08-E) and just wouldn't bother personally. It will be too hot and too noisy, so that's why i only included a 650W PSU.. Superflower are a great manufacturer by the way. :)

Sorry, it wasn't very clear.. I already own the SSD, SoundCard (for my job), Case & CPU Cooler.

Pretty much tweaked Doomedspeeds build, felt the need to rain in the budget a tad. I dropped half the ram as it's always an option to upgrade later, as well as dropping the GFX card down slightly. Windows 8.1 can wait for the extra 3-5 FPS it'll get me. The motherboard, seemingly was only £30 more because of the integrated network card, picked up the cheaper model here.

The motherboard also offers better overclocking and power regulation features. You can tell because the G43 only has a 4-pin CPu connector where as the Gaming has an 8 pin. Aswell has the heatsink on the left side of the CPU (looking down on it), this provides more cooling for the mosfets (i think its them).

The gaming also offers SLI (which can fit in a mATX case (though its not for everyone). The G43 has 2 PCI_E lanes, but you'd require a case with 5 expansion slots, which yours doesn't.

Personally i think its well worth the extra £30..

Also you've sort of riuned the colour scheme. :)

Either get the gaming or get Blue RAM. :)

You make a good point there, will add on the slightly higher end mobo here.

There is also a GTX 760 gaming for £10 more.. More red for the colour scheme, though then you're only £60 away from a 770. The 760 is basically the same as my 670, which is a beautiful card. :)
