Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 CPU Cooler (Socket 939 / AM2 / AM3 / 775 / 1156 / 1366) (...)

I like this configuration but if you're not overclocking it, I don't see the reason for the Arctic Cooling Freezer. Wouldn't the stock one do the job?

Thanks.

Ahh, Dell is already out of the question. I won't be buying it.
I'd rather assembly it myself at this stage. I know I should wait until January so prices will drop a bit but it is really hard waiting another month.

Now, I'm already 100% sure about the CPU, MoBo.
For RAM, I know I'll be getting a Corsair 6GB 1600Mhz 7-7-7-24 16.5v. I don't like the high voltage but the low latency looks great. High voltage = higher temperature, right? Something I'm really trying to avoid.

GPU: GTX 460. But there are different manufacturers for it. MSI, EVGA, nVIDIA, etc... I don't know which one should I go for. So I'll pick any.

Well, the rest is just... the rest!

16.5v is a typo. it's 1.65v which is pretty much standard with RAM so it will be fine.

as for GFX card if you get one of there top of the line super OC'd 460's, don't bother. Either get a standard GTX 460 1GB or get a 470.

Yes, it's a typo alright! :) Sorry abt that.
I'll be getting a standard GTX 460 1GB then. I don't really want to get overclocked components as it could add some extra temperature to it.

Anyway, I was going through the configuration above and I found this bundle which is very tempting:

I like the case and it comes with the PSU. Well, cables are not modular but that's ok. The case does not seem to have filter on the side but probably something can be done regarding this. The price is really good. I'll probably be getting it.

Hi everyone,

I have a build in mind and as I'm not an expert in hardware, I'd like to get some opinions from you. I've been doing some researching about hardware parts and I'm trying to avoid bottlenecks mostly. As you can see on my build, I'm getting SATA-3 on HDs and 1600 Mhz on RAMs with low latency and all that kind of stuff for a better performance. I don't want to spend more than GBP 1000 because I still have to buy monitor, mouse, keyboard and all the lot.

I guess I'd have to add shipping value to Ireland on top of that amount. :)

Thanks again!

you can get a better GPU for the same money...

I've just bought it.
I changed two things from the configuration above:
Video Card: ASUS GeForce GTX 460 1GB (not from EVGA)
Case: Coolermaster Storm Scout
~ £1055.
I hope to get it by Friday! Hopefully. Can't wait.
