How are they? I know you can choose on the website your own table tops and legs, would this be a better idea than buying proper office desk(s) from the likes of Staples? The desks we have in my office are great and exactly what I'm looking for (plain corner desks with a drawer pedestal), extremely sturdy and lots of space, but damn they are expensive!! (near £300 for one desk)

So looking at Ikea can save me some cash, but im not sure how sturdy they are, also they come with legs rather than the wood as part of the desk as a whole like you would get in staples (or any other office furniture supplier for that matter).

so my question is really, how good is the quality of ikeas custom build desks? or does anyone have an alternative option i could go for?

Do you mean the "Galant" series? They are brilliant I have 2 of them. Bought them off craigslist for 1/4 the price. They are height adjustable and there is tons of space to move your chair around if you get the "T" legs.

You are aware that the only thing 'custom' about them is that you choose which bits you want to make up a desk or whatever, it's not like you are getting a true custom tailored desk if that was what you were thinking?

You are best off going to an actual Ikea store if you want to see what their desks are like, from what I've seen though the ones where you can choose which bits to use aren't quite as sturdy.

The Ikea Jonas desk is brilliant, it was highly rated on here and I picked one up myself last year. It however is a big desk with chunky pieces of wood so might not fit your needs.
