I am looking at build a PC for gaming and photo editing I was recommended the following: Case-Xigmatek Utguard, M/b Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2, PSU-Corsair CMPSU-850HXUK,CPU-core i7 860, drive1 Kingston ssd128gb, drive2 2Tb Western Digital black caviar, Graphic Card- Saphire Radeon HD5870, Sound card- Creative XFI Titanium.
Is this a good system?

Yup, as long as your are running 64bit otherwise there is no point running any more than 3gb.

It's a socket 1156 build so you'll want a dual channel kit, either 4GB or 8GB.

4gb is sufficient fornow, depends on your needs.

For gaming and general use 4GB is still absolutely fine.
