Custom desk build question

Looking at getting shot of my current computer desk and replacing it with custom built one, using some worktop as others have done, the distance would be about 2 meters or so.

Is this too wide for worktop to be unsupported?

I put one in a few months back, 2.6m oak with battens on each end, it is battened on the back side too but with a gap for a radiator. Not supported yet but was going to stick a desk leg under if needed.

Not if you used box section or and run down the front and back lengths and either batten end to the wall or support with legs. Most worktops will bow if unsupported when they're only faced on one side, solid timber shouldn't have this problem

if it has a wall to all 3 sides then just batten these well and you should be fine
