In certain games i get random crashes/freezes which i'm pretty sure are GFX related as i have found a fix for the problem too, so why am i posting?
I have Crossfire Gainward 4850's which run with the cooling fans at 50% in the CCC if i manually up the fan speed to 100% i don't have any problems, am i being lazy asking if there is anyway to link the fan speed to a game profile?
I would like to, if possible, have the fan speed increase automatically when i start a game requiring a higher fan speed.

The increase in noise is acceptable over the machine crashing mid-way through a League match.

theres a few tools that allow you to set auto fan speed based on a user defined curve for temp/fan speed if you think the issue is with over heating. what kind of temps are you getting?

The temps i have been seeing don't seem excessive or even particularly high tbh, i don't think they even go above 70 degrees when gaming, but putting the GFX fan speed up stops it (the crashes) from happening?

there is a manual option.

msi afterburner thing has a few custom options for overclocks.
what you can do is keep the clock etc all at default but for each
profile speed up/down the fan.

edit..

load @ 70 is a normal temp for that card. you should not be getting crash's.

Well thats what i would have thought, though the problem does seem temp related, CoD4, NFSS and Grid no problems will play 24/7, WaW will be ok for so long then i get black screen freezes/ restarts, MW2 black screen freezes/ restarts after 10-15 mins, Dirt2 as MW2, yet if i manually set GFX fan speed to 100% before i start the game i have no problems?

it really shouldn't be crashing if it was at 70, how are you currently reading the temps? go grab furmark to get a look at your temps during gpu load if you haven't already

Runs furmark fine, been a while since i have run it, but never had any problems, will run furmark when i get home from work and check temps with Everest.

Thanks for the replys.
