Any body here as fussy as me when it comes to listening to music?

I went and ordered some custom IEM's and the difference is amazing compared to even the Shure se530's that I used to own.

Or am I the only mad enough to do this?

Not so far, were a bit weird at first when I got them but once I was used to them they are fine. I went with some 1964 ears. Bit of a wait but the finished product turned out very nicely..

I've never really bothered. I only use earphones for on the go on the train etc so it seems silly spending too much, so i just have a cheapish pair of Beyerdynamic MMX100's, they cancel out some noise and sound pretty damn good when its quiet enough.

If i want to actually sit down and listen to music at home i much prefer proper headphones or my speakers if i'm lucky enough to have some peace in the front room!

I don't have full customs but I do have custom tips on my Etymotic HF5s:

Planning on getting a portable amp when I get paid.

I might have to try these if I can get a good price, any major discomfort over long periods?

They feel a little strange at first, and occasionally I have to give them quite a good wiggle to get them right, but they're very comfortable - all the other ways of making a seal rely on pressure from the tip, against your ear canal. Either by expanding (foams) or by being pushed in and compressed (rubber ones).

Customs just fit. They're exactly the right shape, so there's no pressure.
