custom mounting bracket

Hi all,
I am considering creating a custom mounting bracket to hold my tube res and pump to the motherboard.

My thought it the res sitting on a plate which supports it with one hole going through which allows the pump to connect, just like the Koolance Reservoir mount. My question is would this need a rubber seal between the res and holding plate it sits on.

So res-seal-plate-(seal-fitting) obviously with the seal being the O-ring on the fitting.

Is this seal needed between plate and res? and are there any male to male connectors which have a longer thread one side to allow a double O-ring and plate or would a normal thread length be adequate.

Any help on this would be welcomed or information relating to similar projects people have done so I can compare.

Cheers

I dont know if it is because it is early but i am really struggling to picture your mounting bracket.

Any part of the loop where you connect one part to another part which could come into contact with fluid if not tighten or fixed into place properly, will require an O-ring

IE: fittings to any thread, compression to the rest of the fitting, pump top to pump, block cover to the block base (like the plexi cover tot he copper base on EK blocks)

If the two parts wont leak if they aren't secured together properly, they generally wont need an O-ring. I hope this is relevant/makes sense. I will probably edit this post tomorrow and have a re-read of OP when my mind is clearer.

No this makes sense, cheers, i realise now upon rereading the OP its not terribly clear. Cheers though I thought this was the case wanted to make sure.

Its because im trying to create a mounting bracket to hold a 250 tube res and d5 with EK top which can be mounted either horizontally or vertically. Similer to the new XSPC all in one jobbies but made by me.
