Custom or enclosed?

Im going to watercool soon, now my car insurance has gone down and wondering if its best to go custom or enclosed.

All Im going to be doing is cooling the CPU, so only really looking at a 120/140 rad, but a 240/280 slim rad could be squeezed in if it will provide a massive improvement.

This is what Im proposing.

The green box is a 120/140 rad, red box is 240/280 rad, blue box is cpu, yellow box is res/ pump, lines are just showing what I believe to be the best piping route. The lower red box is where I think I could fit a 240/280 rad if I remove the lower HDD cage.

Because this is soley a CPU loop, will I benefit more (cost:performance) from the Antec kuhler 920/ H80/ H100 or would a custom loop see me good.
I have no intention of cooling the GPU (or for a few years anyway).

Noise isnt that important, but obviously if its noisy, it will need to be an awesome cooler (about 30db at idle pleases).

Fire away WC gurus :)

If you're after a CPU only loop, go for a minimum of 240 otherwise you'd be better off going for a sealed unit such as the Corsairs.

A H100 isn't a bad choice tbh.

The RS series rad is 35mm, thats my 100% limit, and not sure if I can fit it.
I wonder if OCUK will allow me to test, or even test fit for me, a thin rad.

Had another read around online, and still nothings confirmed to fit, but then theres lots of "the GTS 240 will fit", but will have to wait and see.

I can't find them anywhere and the ones i can find don't have dimensions to check the depth, so right now the only rad i could potentially use is the hardware labs gts 240

Would the EX rad deffo be a no go then?

Well I thought so, but asked OCUK and they confirmed it would fit (they just brought out the WC 500R case, so it must fit). So onwards and upwards then :D

Whats the actual case?

The Corsair 500R

Now, in a little pickle, I dont have a lot of money at once, so buying in bits is going to have to be the only way of purchasing this (will probably be in 2 £100 chunks), so will this be ok for the price, or is there something miles better for a few ££ more:

YOUR BASKET
1 x EK DCP 4.0 Pump (12v) £39.98
1 x XSPC EX240 120mm Radiator - Black £39.98
1 x XSPC Rasa CPU Waterblock - Copper Acetal £39.98
1 x EK Reservoir Combo DCP 4.0 £24.98
6 x EK PSC Compression Fitting 7/16 [16/12mm] - G1/4 - Black £3.50 (£21.00)
3 x XSPC 7/16" ID [16/11mm] High Flex Hose - Clear £2.99 (£8.97)
1 x OcUK Value PSU Bridging Connector (24 Pin) £1.30
Total : £187.62 (includes shipping : £9.50).

Ill probably buy the Rad, pump and res first, then the rest at a later date. Is there anything that can be bettered (keeping it under £200 preferably without shipping)....in fact, is there anything Im missing (apart from fluid)?

That just looks like what Ive specced above for £20 more apart from the CPU bloc, which is only £10 more?

Hmm true, Ill have to look into it.

Whats the difference between the copper and nickel blocks? Better heat transfer?

Oh.....I was expecting some massive reply "well its negligable, but nickel is better" :p

Thanks for the help, hopefully this will be my last WC thread until I start to build it :D
