Is there a way to edit a games screen resolution settings to include resolutions it hasnt got? I keep seeing people saying you can do it in the registry or something?
For Nvidia cards you can setup custom resolutions in the nvidia display driver section (assuming you have coolbits installed). Well coded games will pick these up and offer them to you.
Quake3/Doom3 engined games can utilise custom resolutions by using the following commands in the console/cfg:
r_customwidth x
r_customheight y
r_mode -1
vid_restart
Powerstrip ( www.entechtaiwan.com/ps.htm ) is a utility you can use to add custom resolutions for any graphics card.
I think there's some weird utility you can use for getting games to use widescreen resolutions but I've tended to do things properly myself.
