No way you could bend it round, it was able to hold itself level when dangled over an edge. That looks much worse in the pics than it is in real life. Another thing I might do is just paint that black rubber to grey with a little paint, shouldn't be too hard.

Get some fabric beading and stitch it onto the joins, should look really professional then.

Actually I meant piping, not beading. Like the sort of thing you get around the edges of cushions / seats / etc. sometimes plastic, or fabric, small (few mm) to 10-15 mm wide either circular cross section or |_| shaped . A quick google brought up this as the best example of the KIND of things I'm talking about:

Also called welting and cording.
Depending on exactly what you get you could probably just carefully glue it on to hide the seam rather than stitch.

For the corners you could trawl DIY / bits in bobs stores for a corner cover. I'm thinking like the sort of thing professional loudspeakers have, the kind of chrome/3 sided cube thing to protect the corners. That sort of thing would hind the joins of the piping. Probably look best in Matt black if you could find that sort of thing somewhere. Check out bath seals, they sometime have corner fixing that may work.
As for the piping, I bet your car seats already have examples of it stitched into them. Try and find a type that matches and it'll look matched to the rest of the car. The best I could see was the picture of the car with 2 speakers and the tape on the back of the seats above, if you look above the tape it looks like some black beading on that seat.

That looks excellent, going to have to give that a go, well ill be needing a car first 
. If you have an upholstery place near by you could ask them if they would run u some piping off in a similar colour to the carpet. the material is wrapped around some thick cord and sewn together at the back creating a lip of material about an inch long. The best way to attach to your box would be to peel the edge of the carpet away and staple the cord to the box then replace the carpet up to the piping.

Well the amp board is nearly all done. Only got a few hours of work in today, so just need to finish off the fixings for it and then put the sub grill on. Then it will be finished ready for going back to uni! I'll get pics tomorrow hopefully.

Right guys, it's finally finished! Happy with how it has turned out, it has given me so much more space. The handles look really good in my opinion, better than I expected, can't complain for £8.
Just to let you know, the overall cost came to £35, about what I expected it to be.
