Custom Windows 8 Tiles

The tiles Windows 8 creates for your desktop apps just ruin the look of the (not)Metro screen.

However, I have come across a tool that allows you to create your own tile shortcuts to applications and use a custom image for the tile! Thank god!

The app is called OblyTile and can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1899865
It's very simple to use and can help (non)Metro on PC be that little less painful!

I've been using it on my W8 install - just for nicer icons and it's very easy and I like it!

Great work

the app is very easy to use. One thing how do I get 30x30 img? If you zoom out of metro you loose the icons.

Copy and paste the original, open in paint and re-size it to 30x30

I found that originally if you zoomed out using the same 512x512 image, it would disappear. However, after a reboot, when I zoomed out, the images auto resized. So it might auto-generated the 30x30 images.

C:\Windows\explorer.exe

and this on Program Argument
Shell:MyComputerFolder

How do you know if you need a Program Argument? And if you do like you've posted above, where do you find out how and what to put?

Well the instructions for that one was in the thread for the program as someone asked for it

me personally I have no idea and just use google for answers

I found the arguments for the shutdown and reset using google.

I don't use surround but I use SLI, no problems so far
