I went out along the grand canal in dublin yesterday, and came accross the season's first cygnets. all of six days old i was informed by a helpful local. The male swan was ok with people provided they stayed 10 feet or so from the nest. any dogs got less leeway and were hissed at from 50 yards 
There ware also tons of ducklings, so I shared some of those too
