I'd say ask for it tidying up. Rather than giving a mm or something. You could add Don't make it too short. To make sure they dont...make it too short.

well googling suggests that hair grows roughly half an inch a month, which i guess sounds about right. i always felt my hair grows closer to an inch in about 6 weeks but i guess everyones different.

you will probs be ok asking for 1.5cm off, but you'll know your hair better than other people and its better having your hair slightly too long than too short.

Get it cut slightly shorter, then after a few days/a week it will look a bit more natural.

I absolutely hate freshly cut hair, it just doesn't do anything.

You need one of those gay hairdressers memberships, you flash that on the way in, and they will do whatever you want. That's all you have to flash though.
