CV layout - what's normal currently?

Hi all, currently wanting to update my CV as it's overdue, is there a 'goto' layout at the moment?

Obviously this can be dependent on your job market, just after a big standard one to throw about then can be tailored should it go to something like a design orientated role or anything.

Subscribed as I could do with some advice. Currently I am a Technical Support Analyst and trying to head towards a software development/programming job if that makes a difference.
