I'm filling in a job app for the first time in 22 years (end of army service - mere civvy soon) and it's asking me if I have any memberships of professional institutions. What are classed as professional institutions? I am an MCP/MCTS and also have a couple of City & Guilds. Do these count? It's even asking me for school quals. Are these really relevant since it's 26 years since I left school.

I would say MCP/MCTS were qualifications, or at least thats where I list mine.
I would have thought professional institutions would be eg being a member, associate or fellow of British Computer Society (BCS) in IT terms or any other chartered institute.

The BCS or IET are the main technology professional institutions in the UK.
