What job are you applying for specifically what does it require.

Customer care / general office based work. So, good with people and admin. competent.

Will adapt it to suit a specific job as and when it's required.

I'm looking for something that looks and sounds O.K.

Despite being 39, this is the first CV i've ever had to write.

Isn't it usual to put your skills at the end of the CV, as most people are more interested in your qualifications.

Hence my posting for advice.

This CV has been created with the input of those wonderful people at JobCentre Plus. It's what they refer to as a " Skills Based " CV.

Version 3;

I see you captain a skittles team, Do you know a kelvin Robinson, moved to London a few months back?

As for the CV.

I would put skills at top. Then decide which is more important education or experience.

as its customer care, I would probably be inclined to put experience first (the tutoring)

To give you some ideas, here's my old one. Not into IT, now doing engineering LOL

I usually start with Education/Qualifications, THEN employment history, THEN skills (divided into technical - i.e. real skills, things you can actually do, and non-technical soft skills such as "Ability to work in an office environment, such as working in a team and responding to queries from co-workers, management and clients  ")

IMO putting your skills first on the CV makes the CV read like a list of buzz-terms without any real substance.

I looked at your latest draft... it seems perfect. IMO including your contact details all centred under your name like that (so it looks like a letter head) is a bit ugly. Maybe I'm being petty mentioning that, but I lay out my CV like this:

Resume
Contact Details
Name:
Address:
Phone: 042 1234567
086 1234567
Email Address: [email protected]

Education and Qualifications

Employment History

Skills Summary

Referees

might read like buzzwords. but this is what employers check for. If your key skills don't match up with the job, its going in the bin. However you don't won't a huge list, unless that's what they require. Needs to be tailored to suit.

Will work on the "ugly " header ;)

Should i list my 2 referees ( i.e name, company, address etc ) or just leave as " references can be provided.............. "

Thank to everyone so far

really doesn't matter. I generally just include them, as its less hassle if they require them later on. They wont ask for references till you "have" the job anyway.

The only time I wouldn't include them, is if I really don't want a manager finding out I'm applying for other jobs.
