I'm sat here at the moment writing yet another new version of my curriculum vitae. I'm seeking more work within the glorious IT Industry.

I'm thinking its more than likely there will be a number of people here who have recruited for the IT industry...so would you mind checking my freshly written cv out?

I'll post it when i'm done.

edit : Okay its up here!

My girlfriend is giving it the once over at the moment. I feel it will be beneficial for you to understand what’s going on with me at the moment though! I started at my current workplace when I was on a sandwich course in uni, back then I was providing first line support & intranet development.

I finished uni and went back to continue what I'd started. The company had grown two times over but still had the same set of support staff which meant I spent 99% of my time doing support, mainly 2nd line. I was still getting hammered with growing requests for things I should develop yet given no time.

The department has since increased in size and I have literally been forced into a corner where I do development all day and support when no one else is able. I wasn't consulted about my role, simply pushed into it. I've talked with those responsible and it appears there is little compromise to be had.

I've sent my CV out three, four times over the past month or two. The first thing the recruiter has said is "you realize this is not a development job right?" ...to which I’ve evidently said yes! I get the impression its put a fair number of people off though, so this is my attempt at a more infrastructure/support focused CV...Let me know what you think? I’ll post a link up in a minute or two.

Okay its up here!

Note specific details have obviously been taken out!

your CV is a bit too straight to the point but Expand more on your profile
i know you list your skills in there but also you do not mention your hobbies
they need to see the human side of you too your personality

i know a lot of it down to interview
but try and make your CV stand out more

but apart from that reads good
