Cybercrime and Hollywood

Brilliant, just brilliant, im pretty sure they where trolling.
That and Swordfish were he has about 12 screens in front of him lol.

A few NBC / CBS writers have said they try to outstupid each other with their tech scenes, but let's not rule out they might just be that clueless :D

The other truly great one is the person who has the high score in every MMORPG - pretty sure that's another NCIS highlight :D

Or it might be an "it's safer to give the audience what they expect, even if we know it's wildly inaccurate" thing.

I have a minor interest in historical combat. I don't know much, but knowing even a bit is enough to see how ludicrously inaccurate most depictions of it are. Usually it's so bad that by 5 seconds into the fight the hero should already be dead at least twice because of their mind-boggling level of incompetence and stupidity. Part of that is because it takes a lot of skill to make a fight with hand to hand weapons realistic without any risk to the participants but another part is because they depict what most viewers have come to expect. Things llike huge slow swings with apparently very heavy swords, lots of spinning around even in a 1 on 1 fight, locking swords and pushing against each other while doing nothing else, swords cutting through metal armour, all that tosh. But it's tosh that almost all viewers have come to expect and perceive as appropriate and dramatic, so it's a safe bet for people making books/films/TV.

Um

Since when is it good for data security to project your work on multiple 100" screens?

Especially when you have a random surfer dude walking around..

To be fair, those screens are located inside a SCIF which itself is located inside a secured special projects compound.

Yeah but thats like saying everyone with a pass at work needs to see high confidential work from the cleaner to the receptionist or butty woman.

Still must be nice to get a massage at work from surfer people.
