Cyberpunk Edge runners on Netflix

I've just started watching, it's based on the same Universe as the game and while the animation isn't on par with Arcane it certainly suits the story. It's interesting so far.

I was just going to ask in the game forum, but I’ll ask here… do you need to have played the game to watch this? I’m basically holding off playing until the expansion now!

I’ve played the game but not completed it yet. There are crossovers like Arasaka and other call backs but I don’t even think anyone from the game is mentioned or referenced. It feels like an alternate story in the same universe.

I enjoyed it, don't need to play the games first but it has plenty of easter eggs if you have.

Enjoyed this a lot. The main character, David, was annoying AF though, especially in the first 2 or 3 episodes.

Makes me want to replay CP2077.

The universe of the game is, itself, based on the substantially older tabletop RPG: Cyberpunk and I believe Edge Runners draws on that as much as the more recent video game.

Awesome question, I was thinking the same, but holding off for my new PC build (I’m in the 9800x3d queue).

It doesn’t really matter if you haven’t played the game but there are a lot of references that won’t be as meaningful if you haven’t. Doesn’t affect the main plot of the show though.
