Cycle commute!

This is carbon everything ;)

Looks expensive! Not sure I'd trust a carbon frame, I've suffered a bit from chain suck on my road bike and I've got some nice scarring on the chain stay - I'd hate that to happen on a carbon framed bike!

Ive got a Carbon framed Giant TCR.
Its several years old, been used in the Alps several times. It's stood up to a lot of abuse and now its got 15 stone of un fit mad head riding it. 30 mph down a road that'd rattle a full sus mountian bike aint fun esp with carbon forks being pretty stiff.
Dont think road bikes sufferer from chain suck like a mountain bike does.

...and what perfect weather for it!
I go from Crouch Hill to Moorgate in the city, 5.5 miles, quite down gradient there but Crouch Hills a leg breaker as I live at the top so the ride home os harsh after a hard day! Takes me 25 mins there and 30 back.

Bike is a 2000 Trek 8500 with Rock shox SID XC Ultralites and big fat Maxxis tyres that did me well up at Glentres in Scotland a fair few times, swapping to specialized Nimbus's tonight and putting new Powerplay SPD's on as old ones are shearing screws alarmingly!

I have to say that the ******* motor bikers, scooterists and tbh other cyclists not used to busyy roads are the bain of my life...left turn with out looking? No problem! Weave in and out of traffic at lights blocking me in behind you even tho Im balanced on pedals ready for a fast start? Of course! I love that xtra specially!
At least 4 or 5 riders of powered and un powered bikes should have had points/tickets or there machines taken off them tonight on the way home, especially the guy with his girlfriend on the back of his gehy suzuki scooooter that very nearly knocked me into path of a bus!

rant /off

Now where are my metal spike backed roller ball gloves?

I hate headwinds!!!!
51 mins for 14miles. Sods law says it'll be head wind on the way home as well.
Even on the downhill runs couldnt keep a decent pace up.
Still thats the first ride to work out of the way so happy.
