Been looking into insurance for my new bike, got a quote for £33 from cycleguard (I can get £5 paid into my quidco account) for a year but I need a lock approved by them.

Lock list

Never even heard of any of the makes.

Anybody else know of a good cycle insurance comany. I mainly want it because at work they have moved the bike area and 2 bikes where stolen last summer and Asda wouldnt pay up.

Argh, that company has changed their lock list - I'm insured under them and they did have a load that you could get at Halfords on that list... but now they're gone

Oh well, I'll say goodbye to another £20 or so on another new lock then :(

Abus and Kryptonite are the 2 best lock manufactures the last time I checked.

Check out M&S for insurance.

I have a Kryptonite New York D Lock for £45 off the net. Its bloody brilliant. I have seen people trying to pick it before I have chased them off but none of them have ever had any success, although if someone really really wants to nick your bike, not much is going to get in their way. I think cycleguard rate it fairly high on their pre approved lists.

Halfrods definately stock abus. But i would go with a kryptonite, the new york chain is £90 from halfrods and that thing belongs on a Gsxr1000 not a pedal bike.
