Hi All,

I've got Shimano M183 cycle shoes... when I went round trying loads on I found some had blanks in the front where I currently have studs... using them on the road I don't really need the studs !

Where can I get a removal tool and some blanks from ?

I might have a set of blanks I took out of my shimano shoes I can send you them if I can find them. To remove the cleats you'll need an allen key, somewhere around 5mm?

Also if you fit the blanks, you might find it a good idea to use something like duct tape over the blank cleat inside the shoe, underneath the insole.

I think the OP is referring to the two studs on the toe tip - These can be removed.
My shoes (Specialized Pro Carbon) came with the tool to unscrew these, when they out standard screws fill the gap.

Search on the Shimano website or bike shops to find the tool you need.

Could probably use pliers if you don't have the necessary spanner/socket.

If you're not planning on using the studs, just fill the threads with glue or ignore the holes completely.

Related question, where can I find pedals that have a flat side and a clipless side too?
