Hello lovely motorists! <3

I've found this nice article -;

http://www.motoring.co.uk/car-news/cyclists-why-do-they-ride-in-the-middle-of-the-road-_62617

thought it would good to share it with you guys just so you can see it from a cyclists point of view too, and hopefully this will help us understand each other?

I don't want to start a war here but we all got to share the road so lets make the best out of that experience! eh? ;)

I wondered what was your opinion as a driver about the points raised in that article? have you ever though about it?

I've had drivers trying to ram me off the road, shouting at me to ride in the middle and so on.

PEACE <3 <3 <3

As a daily commuter on my bicycle from Ealing to the city, the vast majority of drivers get it and understand why I move into the centre, often because of parked cars, or the gutter is not safe (which is what you would expect as any driver, cyclist or any road user should be reading the road up ahead anyway).

To me I think the biggest danger on my commute are actually pedestrians, and sometimes other cyclists.

I've had a guy overtake me inches away from my bars, cut me off, block my way, open the window and tell me to get off the "road" because I don't pay ROAD(lol) tax, ride in the middle of the road and that I should sit in a cycle lane - there was no cycle lane on that particular road! then he speeds off over RED light.

All that bothers me is the idiots who ride on the road when there's a cycle path on the side of the road. I see it every single day on the same stretch of narrow country road and it bothers me no end. The cycle path is lovely and smooth as well so there's no reason not to use it IMO.

pedestrians! you wouldn't believe how many times I attempted to ride on those "cycle" paths.. :) pedestrians just walk into them, drivers open doors etc etc.. its less safe to be on them that it is to be on the actual road!

TBH if they cycle on the side I still have to go fully into oncoming traffic to overtake so it doesn't actually matter if they're in the middle of the road missing potholes. I'd rather they just ****ed off altogether. Get a mountain bike and do some fun stuff in the woods. Quite why you'd want to ride on the UK roads is beyond me, they're dirty, full of potholes and full of 60 mph blocks of metal.

why don't drivers just race on the track? I mean why do they need to drive to work? just walk jeez or use public transport eh ? ;)

WAAY to miss the point.. and that's why we have the problem of cyclists/vs/drivers is because people like you simply DON'T get it.
