Its an interesting idea, but you are going to have to work a lot on the AI for the civillians, they need to be able to stay out of the way of hordes and not get in the way of the action while travelling or its just going to be annoying.

Luckily the director already has this form of AI integrated as it was going to used in Left4Dead in one of the earlier builds but its disabled in the latest. So should be pretty handy for us.

They will get some basic weapons for melee etc.. but no guns. So there not going to be entirely useless. This could all be balanced later. It might prove to tricky with them unarmed so might be able to give up your pistol to um etc.. we shall see
