Whats your budget and how much space do you need? I've not used a D-Link yet but they don't seem to have very good reviews. I would say get a Synology unit, that would be my first choice. Second choice a Qnap NAS or HP Microserver with Windows Home Server. I've done some reviews of single/dual bay Synology units HERE
By all means use the trust button to message me if you like. A Synology DS212j would set you up nicely. You only get what you pay for.
Thanks, remember talking to you about the review of the DS212j, looks like I may get that it's just this seemed ridiclously cheap at £55 on some sites for a 2 x bay NAS.
I've just got to explain to the missus why when this is £100+ I'm not going for the £55 one, bless her
Nice drives, they are on their compatability list. I have a pair of greens in my DS212. Drop us an email mate either using the trust button or the contact page on my site as I'm not subscribed to the thread.
Just replied bud. Those greens are a good solid buy. I have 2x2tb EARS greens, the ones with the issue and I haven't applied the fix nor have they given me any bother. Running in RAID 1 in my DS212 24/7 and before that my DS210J. Can't imagine this will affect newer drives though as this is an old problem now. Fix is dead simple if it did though.
