D2X annoying problems with power connector.

Yesterday, I got a pop up window saying the power connector on my D2X wasn't connected. The thing is, it was. It just stopped saying it was. I've tried numerous things, but still can't get the card to recognise the floppy connector. Any know fixes?

I'm assuming you have pushed it in as far as it will go?

I've seen quite a few people say it really needs to be pushed in, otherwise it doesn't work properly.

Yes. Spent a good hour on it last night. Gave up the ghost in the end.

Im only running two sound sticks and a sub. Would the DS be a decent replacement? I have no use for all the bells and whistles of the d2x, just good crisp sound.

Have you tried a different power connector to see if that works?

No. Only the D1/DX is closest to the D2/D2X of the cheaper Xonar cards.

That's not to say the DS it isn't a good card, it's just if you have decent speakers, which the Soundsticks are, you're more likely to notice. For anyone with cheap speakers, then the difference probably wouldn't be that much, if any.

I used electrical tap to secure my power cable on, when I had a D2x.
