D3100 to D5200 - Upgrade worth it for amateur?

I started with a d3000 second hand to learn the basics with the same kit lens. Knowing what I do now at a better level I can definetly say a lot of shots I was taking with the d3000 were user error with poor editing. I would still however be unhappy with the low resolution screen, lack of focus points and a slow lens for low light amongst other things.

I would have to buy it first :( Unless i manage to find someone with one I can try.

Its exactly the same lens the D5200 came bundled with when new.

I usually shoot with the aperture wide open so i can use a low ISO and a fast shutter speed. Might that be my error?

A wider aperture will generally give you a softer image, though it depends what the widest aperture you have available is.

Figured out how to edit my pics how I like, which has helped. :)

These are mostly a bit dark but I cba to re-do the brightness/exposure and re-upload just now. :p
