Hi, the D5 PWM is fine but I believe some of the V1 models had an issue with the Intel PWM standard. I've never had an problems as of yet though (touch wood) but I like the PWM as I can mess with the speed without opening the case.

Only model I'd recommend other than the PWM is the Aquabus variant as that can run at full speed (IIRC) without any PWM signal whereas the PWM D5 runs at around 25% I think unless it's receiving at signal which is a pain when you're filling the loop.

Hope I could help and good luck with your build :)

D5 is a very good pump even better with PWM saves messing about with dial settings.

I'v always used PWM pumps myself.

Hi,

Thanks for all your reply's very useful and reassuring.

I will go for it then, i have a DDC with an xspc res top on it but i want to use that in my second pc (which might get an rx 480 when the partner cards come out)

Cheers

Matt

Hi All,

what are your thoughts on using a PWM D5, I will be going to pick up some parts today and I have been looking at the EK pump with a top etc included?

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ek-water-blocks-ek-xtop-revo-d5-pwm-plexi-incl.-pump-wc-884-ek.html

I would prefer the vario pump but i would rather buy it complete and i am a bit cheep and would like to save the £5.

Cheers

Matt

This is a superb pump. The one I use in OrionX and many 8Pack systems as well as in my own systems at home.
