D5100 transfer to iPad

Hi guys

Is there a way of transferring images from the d5100 via a cable straight to the iPad without having to use the pc?

Don't think you;'ll be able to do it with just a cable but you can get the ipod camera connection kit

I have the older CF only version and that works well.

Just ordered that now cheers. I didn't even think to look on apple store, in this kit do you get a USB version and a sd card reader version?

You've ordered it without knowing what it does / what it supports? :confused:

Either way it will transfer pics from the camera to the iPad,

I was merely highlighting the fact that you had ordered something without fully understanding what you'll get.

Something I thought that you'd want to do before paying £25 for something, unless money is of no object.

Camera Connection Kit works great.

Only downside is that it's a little slow. From what I've read, they nerfed the transfer speed because they discovered that people could use the USB connection to do all kinds of things that they didn't want.

I find it pretty quick,using fast card,not sure if that helps or not with the pad

I'm using quick Sandisk cards with RAW files, it still takes a good 10-15mins to do a full card.

Like I said, Apple nerfed the speed of the USB connection because it allowed people to do all sorts, like use third party keyboards and stuff.
