Hi all

My rubbish car is being a pain again :(

I have 2 funny problems. Firstly when I accelerate and then change gear, off the gas and onto the clutch the revs go up and sounds like i have my foot on the gas while changing gear. I think its a stupid sensor that's dirty and needs cleaning. This doesn't happen all the time.

Second is when I put my foot down the car is making a deep noise (like a vibration I think) only happens when I put my foot right down past 1/2 way. I suspect this is the throttle body being dirty though tbh I think this could be the cause of both as it is pretty grubby underneath the flap.

I serviced my car last weekend (filters, plugs, ignition coils and oil).

So, I think I'm going to clean the TB anyway, how would I do this? Am I barking up the right tree here?

Car is a 2005 Seat Ibiza 1.2 petrol.

Thanks all

Does the air cleaner/filter sit over the throttle body? Have you put it back properly? Also connected all pipes you may have removed doing service and plugs.

Spray carb or brake cleaner over the parts of the engine you suspect e.g. manifold gasket if the revs rise or drop there's your leak.

Obviously with the engine running

Obviously be ware spraying flammable liquid onto a hot engine. Use common sense.

Hi all

Little update, problem 2 is now fixed, took the air filter off and put it back on. There was only one way for it to go on so maybe the casing wasn't put back on properly I don't know.

Daft question but where would that be located? I've tried to look on eurocarparts but can't find what it looks like
