Daft Punk fans... HELP ME!

they use ableton live which is what makes it sound "perect"

once all the sounds/samples/tracks are setup properly it mixes them perfectly too the bar 1/2 bar 1/4 bar. whatever you want

they're doing no different to what other "dance" acts do for there live shows today , chem brothers , groove armada, SMD and digitalism all do a similar thing with ableton and controllers or with the actual hardware in some cases(smd)

the samples and software synths etc are all set up and synced before the show so all they really need to do is use the midi controllers inside that pyramid to trigger sounds or fade stuff in and out, nothing special but nothing anyone else has managed to do so perfect either.

maybe your confused thinking they're claiming to use the hardware synths and stuff for the show , afaik they switched completley too software years ago . the last album "human after all" was made in 2 weeks with ableton ,a guitar each and a rythmn box..

as for there 1997 show , well wow thats just in a whole different league ,

they took all the studio hardware from thomas's bedoroom (reportedly so full at the time that they had to remove his bed :p ) and put it on the stage in the clubs , they then bounced around turning dials and sliding faders for over an hour making whole new tracks "live" and possibly the best sounds ive ever heard. alive1997 is without a doubt the best cd ever made imo. its pure genious

where can i get alive1997 from ;)

I was at Leeds. Daft Punk set was AMAZING :D

Wish I could have made it to London to see Faithless too tho :(

its a cd that you can buy.....

even the highstreet cd places always have it in stock

get some free daft punk stickers with it too iirc :p

ive got a few of there dj from the same time too , if you search for daft punk live from the arches you will find a download pretty easily, or there 1997 essential mix ,

the brown boxes are 4 Moog Voyagers Rack Mount Edition , anologue synths for anyone who cares , meaning its not all just digital crap off the laptops .

this means the shows is actually more "live" than people give them credit for even if theyre just using those to add some filetering

theres also 2 behringer BCR2000 midi controllers , used for triggering and fading in and out midi loops from ableton . possibly for the lights etc too since that would be supported aswell

the screen thing is apparently a jazzmutant lemur touchscreen thats designed for use with audio programs etc , looks v nice on there site i must say http://www.jazzmutant.com/index.php

sorry for the bump but i thought it was interesting and people on here where questioning that it was actually live etc.

Bet they just playing World of Warcraft while all the crowd are bouncing around like plonkers :p

Damn good tune tho!
