The Express regularly quote extreme weather events from some internet crackpots notably:

James Madden and Piers Corbyn. Both charge £100s for long range weather forecasts which turn out to be complete nonsense. Nathan Rao (Express hack) reports on these fruitcakes' predictions and he has openly admitted he does this because the Express knows extreme headlines sell more newspapers.

This winter according to James Madden was to be the same as 1947 and 1963, last winter was the same, the Express has several headlines to reflect this. What have we had so far this year and we all remember last winter.
