Is it ok to run a graphics card 2 X 8 pin power connectors off one cable?

My PSU has a cable with daisy chain connectors. Or should I use 2 separate cables (not sure if my modular psu supports 2 cables it's an EVGA 650 GQ 80+).

Are there any drawbacks or will everything be ok? Been running it like this for 2 years and only just noticed!

It is as the cable is rated to supply the rated power for 2 x 8 pins which is 300w.

Running it for 2 years gives a clear indication its fine its only higher end cards the can draw massive power that potentional problems .

Which gpu is it ?

3070. Just wasn't sure if running 2x8 pins off one cable was wise. I've had no problems to date but wondered if there might be issues with power drops etc I hadn't noticed affecting performance

It is advised that you run two separate cables because it is the safest option (for stability & electrically), but like mickyflinn says, you'll normally be fine with a decent PSU + midrange gpu.

Quick question if I may...I'm upgrading from a 3070 to a 4070 ti and if I'm correct the 4070 ti draws less power than the 3070 and I'm in the same position I have a single cable with 2 8 pin connectors in and have been running for about 2 years so would this be ok for the 4070 aswell. PSU is 750 watt gold rated

It will be fine the cables is rated for 300w and another 75w from the pcie slot.

Any instability and you know what to look.

Its always best to use two seperate cables. It all depends on the PSU and GPU in question but I would personally always run two cables. GPU's like to spike the power so depending on your GPU you can easily draw more that 375w during a spike.
