Daisy-chaining power strips

I was told the issue lies in the internals of the extension.
Cable to extension may well be capable of 13amps but that some of the internals of some extensions are not all capable of handling 13 amps as they assume the load will be split.
No idea if its true its just what I was told by a sparkie at work

That maybe true of some cheapo gear, if you look inside them it is just normally some flex linking each outlet!
 
Stick a one socket surge protector at the start of each socket. Then you are covered if you have a power outage.

That's pretty much meaningless :)

A power outage means power is gone, no power = no whirry buzz hum.

A surge protector is supposed to drop the energy from voltage spikes, although most such devices on the market are snake oil tbh.
 
Would it not be safer, if a little space inconvenient, to get something like a 10-gang extension? I have one running all my computer bits and routers etc.....
